Hello friends, I always wonder if it makes any difference changing the amp IC of a soundcard. And in this video, I'll find out!
For this experiment I chose a card with one amp IC for each channel, because this makes it easy to compare.
On the left channel I installed the 386 IC the card was originally eqipped with, and on the right channel I installed a LM386 IC from National Semiconductor.
I recorded music from Descent in OPL2 mode so I could easily record and compare both streams at once.
