What is DIAC, how DIAC works and basic characteristics explained in the video tutorial. A DIAC is a semiconductor switch that can be turned on in both forward & reverse directions after the voltage across Diac reaches its breakover voltage VBO. Diac is used generally for triggering control gate pulse for Triac. Current wave shape and timing of Diac triggering with Triac is explained. Diac DB3 Break over voltage VBO symmetry, V I Characteristics, current waveform and dynamic characteristic, the rise time of Diac are discussed in lecture.
