Cursemark is a new Early Access action roguelite with some seriously interesting buildcrafting. After playing around 10 hours, I wanted to take a closer look at what makes it stand out: modular skills, rune-based ability modification, handcrafted exploration, and the question of whether it’s worth jumping into right now.
At first glance, Cursemark looks like another dark fantasy roguelite. But once you start modifying abilities, chaining effects together, and turning simple attacks into screen-clearing nonsense, it starts to feel like something closer to Hades meets Path of Exile buildcrafting, with a bit of old-school Zelda-style world exploration layered on top.
In this video, I break down how Cursemark works, what makes its build system interesting, how the handcrafted world changes the usual roguelite formula, where the game already succeeds, and where its Early Access rough edges still show.
