Dr. Afshan Zahedi - Diabetes Prevention In Children
Dr. Afshan Zahedi of the Scarborough Health Network says that diabetes prevention needs to start in childhood.
If children are taught to eat well, exercise and lead healthy lives, they will lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life.
The age of onset of type 2 diabetes is constantly lowering, so while diabetes prevention is important for everyone, from children to adults, it makes sense to get kids started on the right path as early as possible.
The Scarborough Health Network has sponsored the creation of over a hundred educational videos for type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
