The SEGA Saturn port was well-received for delivering almost the same arcade experience, but the Playstation port got mixed reviews because it was crippled (e.g. no tag team due to hardware limitations) and released at a much later date (2 years later).

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Fight for the Future was released by Capcom around 1999 on the arcades. This is the third version of Street Fighter 3, and like the 2 prior versions, it featured new characters, carrying over only 4 characters from Street Fighter 2 (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li). It wasnt as popular as Street Fighter 2 during its time, perhaps due to new characters and the decline in arcade games, but has increasingly gained popularity over time, thanks to the video of Daigos famous parry craziness during a tournament. It is considered one of the best fighting games ever made, and has enjoyed re-releases on different consoles.
