Hi guys! Aariel here! So I'm so sorry I've been keeping up this MEP for so long! Joining TTWU and other MEPs and school and stuff, I had kind of put this on the backburner, but I'm finally finished!
So Amber had originally joined this with Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, which I have no clue why that'd be super hard XD. But she had like, no inspiration at all, and after watching 'Sita Sings the Blues', I really wanted to do the Ramayan with Ram and Sita, so I asked Amber and she let me take over the part!
I’m not Hindu, so disclaimer, but i think i knew the story well enough. I did omit a couple characters like Lakshman or Hanuman because i wanted to keep the focus moreso on Ram and Sita themselves, and it’s lot of story to fit into an MEP Part.
Each of these manips took me literally days to finish so I’m so glad it’s finally complete! Now onto the story:
In Lanka, King Ravan’s sister Shurpanakha (I hope I spelled that right) tells him about Princess Sita, the most beautiful woman in the world and how he should make her his wife. So Ravan sends his servant Mareecha to disguise himself as a golden deer to distract Ram, prince of Ayodhya and a skilled archer. Ram and Sita are meanwhile banished in the forest for 14 years thanks to Ram's jealous stepmother, but they are content because they have each other. Sita sees the deer and finds it so beautiful, she asks Ram to capture it for her, and while he’s doing so, Ravan kidnaps her and takes her across the ocean to Lanka. She sits under a tree waiting for Ram. Ravan gives her two months to agree to marry him before he forces her to, luckily Ram saves her just in time!
By the way, the Mareecha turning into a deer was my absolute favorite manip to do! Hope you like that!
