In this video, I review the DeWalt DCW682NT-XJ 18V XR Brushless Cordless Biscuit Jointer and put it through a practical woodworking test.
We begin with everything included in the TSTAK-compatible kitbox before taking a closer look at the tool’s controls, biscuit-depth presets, fence adjustments, safety switch, spindle lock and dust-extraction options.
I also weigh the tool with the battery used during the video, cover its official technical specifications and demonstrate how to set up and cut matching slots for #10 biscuits. The completed test shows how the biscuit jointer can help produce a clean, flush alignment between two pieces of timber.

I then go through the main pros and cons and explain where this specialised tool makes the most sense. In my opinion, it is particularly useful for carpenters, joiners and cabinetmakers working on applications such as extending window boards, widening door frames and accurately aligning glued timber joints.
The main compromises are the additional cost if you do not already own DeWalt XR batteries, the working weight with a battery attached and the fact that a biscuit jointer is less versatile than tools such as a router or multi-tool.
This video represents an initial hands-on test rather than a long-term durability review.
