Trout fishing season 2024-2025 is officially in the books. I was not able to enjoy it as thoroughly as I usually do because of how busy I have been getting our financial house in order.
For the closing day, we chose South Shore access, and I was fishing two lines - one jigging a #ChubbyDarter and one on a #TipDown with a minnow.
#DevilsLakeTrout are stocked (sometimes multiple batches, depending on funding) and there are both #browntrout and #rainbowtrout with Brown Trout thriving and abundant and Rainbow Trout farther and fewer between catches, but some are bigger in size and also active during different time windows of the day and night.
I didn't get to use my Livescope, neither did I bring a Vexilar. My father-in-law was running (literally) three fixed floats and handlining the catches so needless to say he was losing at the hole and missing altogether multiple takers... โ๏ธ๐ธ๐คฃ
