Ayo! Whats up guys, Mr. Blonde here presenting you guys with a Halo 2 Mini from one of the last dedicated H2 players! Sk0ls has been running the H2 console community for some time now, and comes out with really classic style content so if you're looking for some good old fashion H2 stuff check him out! Anyways lets get to the review of one of his latest montages "Deviant 4"
Gameplay: Now in order to feel right about reviewing this minitage, I went back and watched the other Deviants so that I could fully get a grasp on what these montages were really about. Now the way XBConnect works nowadays is that everybody who plays are very competitive and know how to play the game extremely well. So in essence, this minitage is mostly showcasing those intense plays made against the dedicated and elite H2 players left in the community. Sk0ls instead of showcasing his sniper work (although there is a little of that too) decides to showcase his dirty BR and his skills in double shotting and button glitching. For people unfamiliar with H2 on the console, the gameplay might appear to pretty boring and average, but to the veterans of the Halo community they will see a lot of skill being used in a highly competitive setting. In the end once you get to appreciate the skill involved you will enjoy this mini much more.
7.5/10 Sick double shotting and out plays, would still love to see more sniper work in the future to mix it up tho
Editing: Sk0ls also is a decently talented editor who can put together his videos very professionally. After rewatching the Deviants I noticed that he favors a very old school style of editing, and even goes as far as calling his Deviant 3 edit "2010 Style" which might not seem very old school to you, but editing has evolved and advanced very quickly these last few years compared to the past. Anyways, his style involves a more classic style of slowing down on sick button glitch kills and also quick crossfades to get to other parts of the clip rather than speeding up. This gives the flow a more organic feel, but can also lead to some slight confusion on when and where the next clip begins. This is further difficult because of H2's lack of theater and ability to get angles, but as soon as you get used to it, the edit feels much cleaner. The CC has a gritty desat to it which matches the song well, and past the slight confusion there is no other flaws to the editing.
7.5/10 I love seeing self edited videos that are professionally done. Obv no Zhestal or Puba, but presented very well with hardly any flaws.
