Jon Lorsch, director of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, will talk about why institutions should increase their efforts to develop cultures of safety in their biomedical research and training enterprises. He will describe strategies NIGMS is taking to help them do this, and approaches colleges and universities can adopt to incorporate safety into their cultures. The presentation will be based on a perspective by Jon and Colleagues at NIGMS that was published in Molecular Biology of the Cell: molbiolcell.org/doi/10.1091/mbc.E20-03-0167.
