I've been using Training Dummy type enemies just to make sure damage and such worked, but I'm now starting to actually design working enemies for the game. This first was supposed to be Squirrels that run around to introduce the player to the game (simple, but can be annoying to hit and possibly damage you), but I liked the Otter model I found enough to use it instead.
I like that they aren't necessarily focused on attacking the player, but because they can dodge the player, if you can't hit your shots you'll begin taking damage just from that.
