Happy Halloween! Consider this my treat to you! But the subtitles will burn your eyes. I'm sorry. I hope they're reasonably accurate. And the vid is hacked together. But I tried.

There are a few things I think I'd better mention just in general about this translation:

1. Pretty much all of the pronouns I use I added in because Japanese doesn't use many pronouns and I thought they would make the most sense in those situations. Please let me know if I went a little overboard.

2. This song contains several mystery references.

-Dogura Magura is a Japanese mystery by Yumeno Kyuusaku. It has no english translation, so I don't really know what it is about, but here's a short description (halfway down page):

-Orient Express is an obvious reference to the Agatha Christie mystery Murder on the Orient Express.

-"the yellow room" is a reference to The Mystery of the Yellow Room by Gaston Leroux, which is considered the quintessential closed room mystery by many.

- "In darkness as dark as Rue MORGUE" is a reference to Edgar Allan Poe's mystery The Murders in the Rue Morgue, probably the most famous closed room story. Poe is called the "father of the modern mystery," and is considered one of the first writers to switch from simply describing horrible events to a "study of the criminal's mind."

3. One line had "lonely heart" written out in English in the original Nico subs as "lonly heart" or something similarly misspelled. I changed it to katakana because I thought it made more sense because all other English words in the song are in katakana.

I made easier to see subs, but I didn't have time to put them on the vid. I have to make my subs separately in Photoshop now because Vegas crashes randomly sometimes if I use too much generated media.

I think I will work on the other songs in this album now - I've already translated the short versions of them and am working on getting those up ASAP. Hopefully by the end of the day. But translating is fun and strangely addicting (though keep in mind I am probably terrible at it). It's like a game or cracking a code. So please, any suggestions/criticisms are welcome. Be merciless, but not cruel.
