Detroit PBS President and Chief Executive Officer Rich Homberg and Erb Family Foundation President Melissa Damaschke discuss a major milestone in the campaign for the new Fred and Barbara Erb Public Media Campus in Detroit’s Milwaukee Junction — successfully meeting the Erb Family Foundation’s $7.5 million matching gift challenge through significant community support.

The conversation explores the vision behind the new campus, the importance of local public media, and how the project will expand education, journalism, arts and culture, and community engagement throughout Southeast Michigan. While the matching challenge has been achieved, additional philanthropic support is still needed to fully complete the project, with groundbreaking scheduled for summer 2026.
