This is the Detonator at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri. It was built by S&S Worldwide and opened here in 1996 as the first Space Shot ride in the US and the first in the world to have two towers. Detonator launches riders up 210 feet and then back down using a cushion of air to bring riders back down. The top speed of this ride is about 45 mph and riders a launch of up to 4.5 g's on the way up, and -1 g on the way down. In other words, you get lots of airtime on this ride.
