Kweer Kaiju | DESTOROYAH - Synth Cover @KweerKaiju | Uploaded May 2020 | Updated October 2024, 13 hours ago.
Overall I'm less fond of Ifukube's Heisei scores than his previous Showa Era work; I find that his later stuff just doesn't have the same sense of experimentation and looseness. To that end, Destoroyah's theme is really just a beefed up version of a motif he had been recycling for decades (It can also be heard in "Lake of Varan," "The Sparkling Iceberg," "Kong vs. Gorosaurus," "MOTHER," and many others). Still, I can't deny that it's an effective theme for the Heisei Godzilla's monstrous final nemesis, and I had fun creating this synth version.
