Marsha P. Johnson was a longtime activist for LGBT rights. A veteran of the Stonewall Era, she was always on the frontline fighting for the cause. This award honors an individual or group who uses outlandish creativity to shine a light on an issue facing our community. This symbolizes the community at its most original.

Who is DESMOND IS AMAZING?

Desmond is Amazing is a boy who transforms into a drag kid / drag queen. He is an award winning LGBTQ advocate, an outspoken gay youth, runway model, fashion designer, voguer, public speaker, and performer
He has a unique style, designs his own outfits, and was publicly proclaimed to be the "World's Youngest Club Kid". He is the youngest member of one of the original, pioneering, iconic NYC voguing ballroom houses, the House of UltraOmni.
Desmond is the founder of the first ever drag house solely for kids, called the Haus of Amazing. He is also in the process of creating and designing the first magazine, called "The Amaziest", for drag kids and LGBTQ youth. The content will be created by kids, for kids.
His goals are to inspire and give hope to others throughout the world, fight for LGBTQ rights, advocate for anti-bullying programs, stop homophobia against LGBTQ youth, and endlessly spread the message that it is okay to be who you are. He wants other young people to express themselves and embrace the same level of self confidence, bravery, and self-acceptance that he embodies. His motto is "Be Yourself, Always".
He has named his fans his "Amazies".
