Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier are pushing back forcefully against a secret grand-jury report that found the DeSantis administration misappropriated $10 million in taxpayer money—arguing instead that the report’s disclosure was the crime.
The confidential report, filed with the Leon County Clerk’s Office in January and kept from the public for seven months, was leaked to CBS Miami.
During a Thursday news conference in Lake City, DeSantis disputed the grand jury’s central finding and accused a reporter asking about the money of lying.
