This song was a lot of fun to recreate. The groove in the verses is so much more funky than you realize until you start playing it. Just an absolute masterpiece of a song all around.
I won’t go into the history behind this song. It’s already so well documented and if you don’t know at least a little bit about it then you’ve been living under a rock. Haha.
Also, I can’t hear the outro of this song without thinking of the great segment of scenes that it was used for in the movie Goodfellas. Scorsese
Is a master of using music to great effect in his films. Doesn’t get any better than how he used this song in that film.
