Will Lewis is a former master deputy who defeated 14-year incumbent Steve Loftis after a contentious campaign. He'd been employed at the Sheriff's Office for 10 years until 2012. As a master deputy, Lewis oversaw training for new recruits and had been assigned as a task force agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
A former security and investigations consultant, Lewis is a married father of three who lived in Simpsonville when he was elected.
In 2016, Lewis defeated incumbent Steve Loftis after a contentious primary and runoff for Greenville County sheriff. In November 2016, Lewis won the general election against local activist and write-in candidate Paul Guy.
