A deputy opened fire on a man who displayed a BB gun that looked like a pistol at the Newark Police Department, according to Wayne County Sheriff Robert Milby.

"When somebody holds (a weapon) in a challenging manner, somebody holds it in a threatening manner, expect to get shot at."
