Anya Esma | Depth/Low-Buy UPDATE: Book Fails, Spending Savings & Video Game Joy | Depth Year February 2019 @AnyaEsma | Uploaded February 2019 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
♥ TIME STAMPS & QUESTIONS ARE DOWN IN THE COMMENTS! ♥ (though I'd be super happy if you watch start to finish, teehee :)
Hey souls! My merger between a Depth Year / Low-Buy Year is working out quite well. I share with you about my mostly gluten-free diet (due to my husband not being able to eat gluten), my fun with old video games, my struggles with reading and mannnny money shadow insights that get a little private. Enjoy! And if you've read this far, then answer one of the many questions from the comments. ;)
WHAT IS A DEPTH YEAR?
In a Depth Year, you commit to engaging with the objects you have in your life rather than bringing in new things constantly to keep the spark going. Personally, I try to solve the problems I have or fuel the interests I have with the tools that I have at my disposal already. It's very individual what you commit to, but for example, you could try to read books you bought years ago and never touched, wear clothes you haven't worn in a long time, use a witchcraft tool you fell out of contact with, and so on.
WHAT IS A LOW-BUY YEAR?
It's a bit simpler than a Depth Year: You set spending limits for certain categories that you know you struggle with. This is also very specific to the individual: For example, I know I don't struggle with buying too many clothes, so I have no spending limit on clothing. I do struggle with jewelry - so I'm not allowed to buy any the first 6 months etc.
OVERVIEW OF MY DEPTH/LOW BUY COMMITMENTS:
Books: After I finish my book stack, I can buy 1 more at a time
Clothing: Make old clothes work again or sort them out
Tarot: 2 Tarot Decks in the first 6 months, engage with old ones
Lipstick: 2 in the first 6 months (if I even need them)
Magical Supplies: Only re-fills - no candles unless all are used!
Eating Out: 10-15 € a month (budget does not carry over)
Video Games: 1 Game in 6 months, and play lots of the backlog
Tea: Drink my HQ green & white teas
Jewelry: NONE will be bought
Gifts: Buying gifts for others is fine :)
