Depeche Mode TV Show performance of Everything Counts at Superclassifica, Canale 5, Italy on 1983
The transmission was combined with the weekly Tv Smiles and songs and was designed as a counterpart of the transmission of the RAI Discoring Network 1. Initially broadcast on a local television circuit (the first episode of 'Superclassifica Show' aired on Telemilano 58 on September 15, 1977 and was repeated in the following days on Telenorba, Gbr Rome, Canale 21 Naples, Atr Rovigo, Rtr Veneta, RST - Radio South Television - Telereggio, TCI - Tele Color International), since 1980 was broadcast on Channel 5 obtaining much success and remaining in the collective memory mainly thanks to the acronym that had as its protagonist the Telegattone, symbol of the program.
The record of the discs was presented by the DJ Super X which was nothing more than a disco ball stroboscopic conformed to a face with a microphone in front; the effect was obtained by wearing a green cap to Sandra Brianza (organizer of the production) in order to use the effect of the Chroma Key by inserting the image of the ball of mirrors in the area of the hood leaving free eyes and mouth); this character had the voice of Franco Rosi.
Everything Counts was written by Martin Gore.

This concert was the first to have a slightly changed introduction for World In My Eyes.
Daryl Bamonte recounted some of the more offbeat incidents from the World Violation tour in BONG magazine issue 12:
The majority of shows on the European tour were played in Germany. The gigs in Frankfurt were particularly good [...].
Frankfurt also saw a rare appearance of the “DM 11” football team against the promoters team (full of ex-pros, incidentally). We were being stuffed 6-1 at half-time until Willie Whitelaw, merchandiser, turned on the charm and the final score was 10-9 (to them I think).
Electribe 101 was the support act.

Depeche Mode documentary and interview by LTW from early years, Speak and Spell era.
Happy Birthday Vince Clarke! (3rd July 1960)
London Weekend Television (LWT) was the ITV network franchise holder for Greater London and the Home Counties at weekends, broadcasting from Fridays at 5.15 pm (7:00 pm until 1982) to Monday mornings at 6:00 am.[1] From 1968 until 1992, when LWTs weekday counterpart was Thames Television, there was an on-screen handover to and from LWT when these times arrived; from 1993 to 2002, when LWTs weekday counterpart was Carlton Television, the transfer occurred invisibly during a commercial break as Carlton and LWT shared studio and transmission facilities.
Neither did LWT neglect other responsibilities: it established the long-running Sunday lunchtime political series Weekend World and a variety of regional programmes including award-winning current affairs series The London Programme and the light-hearted magazine show The Six OClock Show. It also pioneered multicultural programming via the work of the in-house London Minorities Unit, which produced Gay Life, the worlds first gay television series, and the youth documentary series Twentieth Century Box.
