This ride-along video, shot in Denver, Colorado, is the next installment from my 2025 Active Towns Amtrak Tour of North America. Technically, I suppose this is stop number 6 on this tour. What you will see on this ride from Denver’s Union Station in LoDo (Lower Downtown) is a mixture of protected bike lanes, quiet shared streets, and separated pathways with great rain garden stormwater management features. We'll also be looking at a bunch of old industrial buildings in the RiNo (River North) District, including the final destination of the York Street Yards, the historic former Denver Medical Depot, and other parts of town that are enjoying a whole new life as mixed-use areas that are bringing affordability and convenience forward within easy biking distance to downtown Denver.
