Dennis the Menace (1993) was a critical flop, but for many of us who grew up in the ’90s, it was a staple. In this video, I revisit the movie’s production, its place in John Hughes’ filmography, and why it deserved better than the reviews it got at the time.

From Walter Matthau’s grumpy turn as Mr. Wilson to Christopher Lloyd’s bizarre villain, this movie may not be perfect — but it’s a lot more fun (and stranger) than it was ever given credit for.
