Ah the fabulous Booker boy.

When Dennis Booker's(Richard Grieco) character was first introduced on Jump Street, I have to admit I didn't like him, but after his closing scene at the end of the intense frat episode, Hell Week, I was hooked --I mean, modern Fonzie? Booker Rocks!

One of my favorite pictures of Grieco has to be from 1990, where he's sitting infront of a portrait of James Dean...why, because it's him. Booker is everything rebellious but tempered with a heart of gold. An ex cop turned P.I., Dennis is a menace for justice --a one man army against the world. He'll break all the rules to bring the baddies down, but he always finds the time to listen to and help the individual people that he meets. Not only does he grow immensely as a character himself, but every episode finds him imparting what he's learned to everyone else in the form of an inspirational speech.

I love the spinoff, "Booker" as much as Jump Street (I highly recommend both). It's well paced, with clever storylines, and a great sense of humor. Not to mention, a ton of cameos/regulars by later Stargate (and Sanctuary) actors, including but not limited too: Carmen Arengziano, Christopher Judge, Don S.Davis, Gary Jones, Jay Brazeau, Ian Tracy, Garwin Sanford, etc.

I chose this song because for me it is Booker. While everyone else around him is living everyday the same, he's thrill seeking. Whether it be deep-cover drug busts, freeing hostages, infiltrating as a hot handyman (cliché, right ;), stalking a serial killer, or even undercover street hooking --he does it his way regardless of what anybody else says. Everyone who disagrees with him is a "robot" surviving solely on the boring "coffee and donuts" of life, or as Dennis loves to point out with distaste "eating Twinkies."

It's because of his passion and emotional drive for what he does that people tend to think he's nuts, or at times borderline cruel. Booker's half insane plans and actions appear reckless to his friends, co-workers, and even enemies --but crazy is simply a matter of perspective.
