The Path of Demon Slayer - Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles 2

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 (鬼き滅めつのの刃やいば: ヒノカミ血けっ風ぷう譚たん 2 Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Keppūtan 2?) is a fighting action-adventure video game co-developed by CyberConnect2 Co., Ltd and Arc System Works, and a sequel to the first game released in 2021. Based on the 2019 anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga series, it is the third Demon Slayer game to be released. The game will be released by Aniplex in Japan and globally by Sega for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Steam and for the Nintendo Switch on August 5, 2025.

Path of the Demon Slayer, which allows you to replay a truncated version of the original story. And when I say “truncated,” I mean it, as it’s comprised of just six one-on-one fights. That’s it. It was still a useful way for me to refresh on the story so far, but none of the big, flashy fights against the massive bosses from the original game are here, and even some of the smaller fights are missing. Worse, the ones that are here are based on the playable, versus mode versions of the bosses you fought, which means they’re essentially just glorified Vs CPU matches. Don’t get me wrong; I am grateful The Path of the Demon Slayer is here at all, but it feels like there should have been more to it.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a third-person action arena fighting game with two modes: Solo Play Mode and Versus Mode. Solo Play Mode's plot is based on the second, third and fourth seasons of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, in which Tanjiro Kamado joins the Demon Slayer Corps after his family is brutally murdered by a demon, save for his sister Nezuko. The story features some exploration elements, and is told through various cutscenes and boss battles with demons seen in the anime series. Versus Mode allows players to form teams of two fighters from 40 different characters and battle CPU opponents or other people. The game supports both local and online multiplayer.

In addition, a DLC for the first installment of the Infinity Castle trilogy is in production.

After playing the first game, I was immediately eager to play the sequel, and since I enjoyed Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles, I decided to play the second game.

As expected, the boss fights in this game are incredible, and in almost every fight, we fight high-ranking characters. We also fight against Upper Moons and Hashiras, which makes the boss fights very challenging.

I hope the Infinite Castle DLC brings more characters and more boss fights, like in the game and the movie. It's sure to be incredible.
