One of the major lessons we learned about living in tiny spaces during our time experiencing van life in Europe, is that you need a comfortable place to work. And for Lou, that means a standing desk. After much debate, we realized the best place to create a workstation for him would be where the original Nav Station was on the boat. We needed more storage for our computer/camera gear and decided that this would be the best place to build that.
Building a desk from scratch in a boatyard with minimal tools was definitely a challenge, but David and Lou rose to the occasion. I am so happy with how the final product turned out and I know it's going to be mission-critical for us once we get the boat on the water full time.
Would you have considered taking out the traditional nav station? Do you think our plan to use digital maps is a good one or should we have stuck with paper charts?
