For the new classrooms in our new Tang Wing, artist Arielle Jovellanos created images of a Greek agora to help kids and teens understand the origins of democratic principles.
Alongside new gallery and outdoor spaces, the Tang Wing serves as the home for The New York Historical's Chang Chavkin Academy for American Democracy and Dorothy Tapper Goldman Center for Teaching Democracy. Both programs are designed to inspire passion for civic engagement and inspire a new generation of historically informed citizens.
