Demi Vollering won Stage 8 of the Tour de France Femmes with a late attack on the steep Chemin de l’Arieta in Nice. She dropped Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney and Elisa Longo Borghini, then rode clear to the finish.

The victory puts Vollering into the yellow jersey with one stage remaining. After losing time on Mont Ventoux, she now leads Niewiadoma-Phinney by eight seconds before the final day around Nice.
