Intro/ Credits
Piano that slowly detunes itself... gives viewers an idea on what they are about to see
2nd the kidnap - piano with a clear melodic motif that gives of a tender moment between 2 siblings the dissonance you hear are called clusters
they are not meant to be melodies instead they are used for ambient purposes
but i used mine for mood and expressions (you will be hearing alot of them)
3rd the abusive father - clusters.. noisy ear piercing ones really captures that intense moment (i also provided percussion to support the clusters) then a comforting piano theme between mother and child. a white noise will transition to the dream scene (White noise is a random signal with a flat power spectral density plus you can hear them in electronic music)
4th the dream the same melodic motif from the kidnap scene only with a different timbe (the dreamy kind) instead of a polyphonic texture i went with a monophonic texture
also i used a drum bass and tweaked it to make it sound like a beating heart from alex
5th alex waking - minimalism is the best i wanted it to be as eerie and somewhat suspenseful also the beating heart serves as a transition to the next scene which is alex seeing his mom butchered :( (stupid dad...)
6th the butchered mother - here is where the clusters set the mood for shock and insanity its all dissonant sounds except for the piano part that was previously heard in the scene where the mom was comforting alex but its somewhat fucked due to the chord alterations. massive sound FX are used too (almost silent hill-ish)
7th feeding time - before the feeding scene an intro piano theme was used again for a suspenseful mood. the music where alex was eating his mom was so random... one of my friend suggested that i do a trance beat cos he said that alex seems to be in ecstasy while eating his mom so yeah but im still thinking of changing that but i think it works (what do you think?)
8th - father suicide (that can work as a name) the intro piano theme again and again for suspense (copy paste baby) with clusters setting the expressions while the distorted pad fades the piano is left to a stop and you can only hear alex's excited heart yearning for death. i created a gun sound for suicide scene which i think went great ( was hard but great)
9th ending - a new piano theme for the ending with clusters to end a good macabre story
