Great food is always a joy on trail. This time I make a speciality which is famous in the southwestern part of Germany. It is a quite simple but really tasty dish.
Recipe
For the flour mixture you will need:
100 g all purpose flour
1 pinch of salt
For the cream you will need:
ca. 100 ml of cream
1/2 a tsp of dried thyme
salt and pepper after taste
For the topping:
1 onion chopped in rings
A splash of olive oil.
Mix the flour mixture with a bit of water and knead it until you get a firm and dry dough. Always keep some flour in case you need to add some later.
Heat up your stove. Roll out the dough (ca 5 mm think). Add a splash of olive oil into the pan and brown the dough on one side until golden brown.
Flip the dough and spread the cream on the upper side. Scatter the onion rings on top. Fry it until golden brown from the bottom side.
Remove the tarte from the pan, cut in pieces and enjoy.
