Additional information about Lasli's lover: His name was Jarod, and he died when he was protecting Lasli from a monster. That might be the reason she and her grandma are usually very reluctant to leave the house at night, stating that it is just too dangerous to wander alone in the darkness.
She is also the woman from the "By Firefly's Light" quest. With the somewhat recent death of her lover in mind, it makes sense why she doesn't dare to go catch fireflies herself even tho a swam of them can be found at the little bridge relatively close to her house.
