Deity VO-7U Not a Review, because it's a true story...
I bought two. I bought them before I heard what they sound like. Before I knew how they would perform
And before I had a clear picture of how they would fit into my workflow.
What made me jump head first and purchase two of these mics has to do with trust in people.
I trust Andrew. You see, I find it amazing that Andrew and his team at Deity understand the modern production environment pain points that us independent creators face. Deity for me has helped me level-up my audio solutions while keeping more cash in my pocket.
So when they announced this mic I expected to be wowed and here we are. I am sure there are or will be plenty of mic reviews that will rattle off all the specs.
I'm not going to do that. Rather I'll share my story and how the VO-7U fits into it. It all starts by knowing what I'm not. I'm not a voice over artist. I'm not a musician. I can't sing!
This means that a large diaphragm Condenser Mic is not the right microphone for me.
I do however work in a wide variety of environments. I don't always have all the sound treatment that I would like to improve my recordings. I am paid to help clients build employee training courses.
Many of my clients have little to no voice over experience. And that is where the Deity VO-7U seemed like a great option for me. The noise rejection that dynamic microphones offer is the number one selling point for me on this mic...

Terms & Definitions Updated July 10, 2022:

It is important to me and my company that we clearly define terms used in our video. These terms will remain in place for the life of the Chanel and are effective as of July 10, 2022.
"Not A Review"
This means the brand send the equipment into the studio asking if we would make a video sharing our thoughts. We did not pay for the gear, we do not share what we will say prior to the video going live, and we did not receive any financial or compensation. We also don't have to return the gear.
"Sponsored"
A sponsored video means the brand has a contract with this channel. The brand provides the product free of charge and the product does not have to be returned. The working agreement allows for the channel to receive financial compensation in exchange for a Sponsor Mention, Ad Slot in a video, or Brand/Product Dedicated video.
"Review"
A product review will never be "sponsored". When we review a product, we will only do so after purchasing the product and paying retail price for the item. In order to qualify as a review, we will need to have hands-on experience with the product for a minimum of six (6) weeks and or experience on set with the item for no less than 3 Corporate or Commercial projects.
When videos are released without mentioning if the video is "Not A Review", "Sponsored", or "Review" it should be considered as personal opinion and commentary.
