***** DEI MATRIS CANTIBUS ("Songs of the Mother of God") has contemplative moments as well as towering sonorities, reflecting the love, yet strong and unwavering commitment of this powerful woman who is the universal symbol of PURITY, FAITH, and LOVE.
This is an original composition, although loosely based on a short portion of two Gregorian chants honoring the personage of Mary. In this way, this work pays homage to historical musical traditions while connecting to contemporary composition.
