Revisiting our initial excitement about the Degenesis Gamefound campaign, we examine if our praise holds up. Degenesis is a semi-cooperative, tactical skirmish wargame for up to 5 players, featuring story-driven missions. Developed by SIXMOREVODKA and CMON, the game runs until June 7th with pledges starting at $125. Despite its visual appeal and straightforward yet strategic mechanics, we find Degenesis lacks depth and innovation. The game’s one-vs-many format may cause the dungeon master to lose interest, and the flat terrain tiles detract from tactical elements. While Degenesis may suit fans of tactical medium-weight games, we suggest exploring other campaign games for a more versatile experience.
