In this experiment, the air pressure to which cyclohexane is exposed decreases. Eventually, it decreases to the vapor pressure of the liquid at room temperature, and this causes the liquid to boil, because the definition of boiling point is the point at which the vapor pressure equals the surrounding pressure.
