I've heard this advice my whole life. You have to concentrate on one thing til it's done. You'd think that would work. That makes sense, right? If you can get two things done in an hour, you should be able to get one thing done in half an hour if you just focus on that one thing. It's simple math, right?
Okay fine, I'll try it. And I did try it. And boy did that ever fail hard.
Turns out that's really really bad advice, at least for me. The inertia of dragging one project along basically got me stuck in the mud. Sometimes I need other, smaller projects I can keep working on, on the side, to keep momentum up needed to drag those big projects across the finish line.
And in this video I'll talk about that. And brain drugs, but I get the feeling that topic is for some reason still a taboo in 2025.
For me, the key to getting things done is to try to do all of it all the time. Does concentrating work for you? I'd love to hear about it, if so!
