We've been getting remakes, remasters, and reimagined games left, right, and center, so I wasn't entirely surprised when Dead Rising received that treatment in the form of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. I did, however, wonder if Dead Rising needed a remake.

Unlike some of its contemporaries, Dead Rising already had a remaster in 2016, which is still available on all current platforms. We have access to this game, it's legally available, and it could currently be considered as preserved. Does this new Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster have a place in that context?
