One of the best ports of the classic coin-op shooter from 1980. Interesting thing about this Sega version is that it does not use any hardware sprites: all the objects, shots and particles including star field are "software rendered" into one single tiles layer except for the mountains that use the second layer. This is extremely rare for this kind of game on this console. Also the sound is generated using the DAC - there is no use of the PSG or FM channels. The game is part of the great retro-compilation cartridge: "Arcade's Greatest Hits". Please note that the game is optimized for 60 Hz and runs slower than intended on PAL systems.
