By rebinding the builder unit commands to the QWERTY scheme, you are able to take one of the most integral parts of Dawn of War and generalize it across multiple races.

EDIT2: Codenamereaper, with help from @b0t_garry @connorbreadfrombeyond finished Gridkeys 7.2.5 His MODDB upload is linked, but also available at google drive link: moddb.com/games/dawn-of-war-soulstorm/addons/unification-gridkeys-725
EDIT: Updated 4/22/24 Unification 7 Partial Gridkeys
WGarry and CodeNameReaper continue working on gridkeys for Unification 7 with minor contributions from myself and ConnorBread from Far Beyond.
A partial file has been uploaded "keydefaults.lua.GRIDUNIFICATION7" to the google drive. Delete the ".GRIDKEYSUNIFICATION7" at the end and drop it in "Computer/YourHardDrive/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/Dawn of War Soulstorm/Profiles/Profile#/unification/KEYDEFAULTS.LUA"

This enables you to explore these races much more easily without having to relearn the keybinds.
I first noticed this with the World Eaters faction - the keys were already set up this way. I decided to see if it was possible for all the races to be set up this way. As it turns out, it is.
CodeNameReaper actually had a mod which worked with a previous version of Unification moddb.com/games/dawn-of-war/addons/unification-gridkeys it provides a key rebinding basis for much of the game. You will have to extract the LUA file from the mod and overwrite your own.
I have attempted to organize the Key bindings so that races are grouped together and formatted. This makes it easier to find a specific keybind, as well as make it easier to read.
.BAK is a backup of the original keybinds. .GSWAP is default keybindings aside from moving the builder select key. .ASDF changes most keybinds to a gridkey arrangement.
Download the desired keybind file, delete the .BAK, .GSWAP, or .ASDF at the end of the file, then drag to and overwrite your existing .LUA file.
In Unification Mod 6.9.25, the file path should be something like this: Computer/YourHardDrive/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common/Dawn of War Soulstorm/Profiles/Profile#/unification_new_races/KEYDEFAULTS.LUA
However, you can do this yourself if you want to customize differently, or use my files as a starting point.
To edit your hotkeys, find the keydefaults.lua file. I use unification new races, so my file path is located below. Depending on what mods you use, it should be located somewhere similarly. I highly recommend making a backup. If you forget, or need a backup, the google drive link has one labeled .BAK.
You can edit KEYDEFAULTS.LUA with notepad, just do not change the file extension from LUA.
Note, I have rebound many of my other keys using ASDF/Gridkeys style. It can't be perfect, because many keys are mirrored in different races, but it at least gets most of the buildings correct. My understanding is that Gridkeys will be included in Unification Mod 7.0 The ASDF keybinds are a work in progress, and will change over time as I make improvements.

These guys taste funny!
CBFB had the upper hand early on, but got focused on destroying my pools, so I kept him busy building many in his base while I teched up. The Zoanthropes I trained wrecked his bikes and led to a win.

I am definitely not a Necron main player. I flubbed the build a little bit - super rusty. Again, helping @ConnorBreadFromBeyond develop his Blood Angels build for further testing.

Dynamite does MORE than destroying Bile Titan Holes.
Dynamite is the ultimate demolition throwable for both Automaton and Terminid fronts! With improved damage, AoE, and armor penetration, it outperforms Thermite in destroying bug holes and fabricators from any direction. It can even close multiple spawners with a single well-placed bundle and excels at destroying walls for explosive entrances. Plus, it maintains its combat potential, able to one-shot smaller heavies like Impalers, Hulks, and Tanks. While limited to three bundles of dynamite, this can be managed with Engineer or Integrated Explosives armor passives, or using a supply pack. Dynamite now hits with the force (but not damage) of a hellpod!
Sadly, Illuminate warp ships require 50 demolition force to destroy, just out of range of the Dynamites 40 demo force. Bulk Fabricators also require 50 demo force to destroy from the outside, but inside the vents still works!
