This time I talk about how Gene Wolfe uses defamiliarization, elision, and revelation to set up and resolve mysteries in his books.

NOTE: I realize now after saying that I'm not actually sure if a Destrier has six legs in the text or if my chief source for that is that Malrubius told me it in a dream.

NOTE #2: Though "tush" can be a long canine on a male horse, I take this as an intentional use of a less common definition, i.e., of a short elephant horn.
