Deetlefs Wine Estate was founded in 1822 and is is the 4th oldest family owned wine estate in South Africa
The vineyard is about an hours drive from Cape Town in the Western Cape at the foot of the Du Toitskloof Mountain range.
We got a beautiful day where the owner showed us around the premises and production facilities. The winemaker Ferdi Visser gave us a tasting of excellent wines. Our favorites was some of the Chenin Blancs and Pinotages. The setting is beautiful, the people are the nicest and most professional you can ask for, and the wines are just amazing. If you’re in Cape Town a visit is highly recommended. And if you don’t happen to be on site in South Africa, we still recommend you to try out their wines.
