On April 23, 2018 watch as the closed Coastal Dune Lake breaks through the sandy beach and rushes out into the Gulf, meeting the incoming surf in standing waves. A visitor to the area, Matt describes how he saw it start from a 4" wide depression quickly growing to 3m. I had walked east along the unbroken shore at 8AM. Walking back west at 9AM the interchange between lake and Gulf was in full force.
