In this video, I do a deep dive into how to deepen your relationship with images whether it's tarot and oracle readings, journaling, or with art.

Why is working with images important?

•Deepens relationship with the subconscious.
•Helps to approach difficult subjects and clarify them.
•Aids in processing emotion, trauma, or potent experiences.
•Gives insight into shadow beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors.
•Allows you to define your own narrative.

When we use images for divination, what we are doing is highlighting our relationship to the subconscious and collective unconscious, and how those things align with behavior.

Personal discovery and development:
Working with images can also help to:
* deepen our sense of embodiment.
* Connect you to the world’s collective experience.
* Highlight mythic elements that might have come in dreams, reoccurring motifs, or synergistic experiences.

Working with tarot/oracle for readings
* Richer, more intuitive readings with room for more potent insights.
* Clarity for building a narrative in readings.
* Higher level of personalization.
* Support the client to utilize the information in an engaged way.

THE THREE STAGES OF ENGAGEMENT:
Personal Association
Collective/Mythic Association
World Association (Animal Mundi)

Create a ritual space:
* It signals that this is an intentional, safe place to do this exploration.
* Honors the work you do as important, and insightful with the potential for healing through self-discovery.
* Invites the switch from rational to the dreamscape.

Dream consciousness is the environment you create that invites engagement and presence to intuitive work. You invite emotions, images, and associations, so you can build a relationship with them in real-time instead of events that happened in the past that we are tempted to excuse, rationalize, or create false narratives around.

We do this to embody new narratives and recognize elements of trauma that might be somatized in the body. We are creating a safe space for the psyche to communicate and play.

* Allows you to work with the images in an intuitive way, with flow and non-judgment.
* Allows a dialogue with the subconscious to emerge that changes from past tense to present making the images active, and happening in the present.
* Allows access to the subconscious for potent creative tools.

STEP ONE: Associations (buried parts of self, or conscious memory)
* Mood, emotional, tone, overall feeling.
* What figures or characters are present? People, animals, shapes, etc.
* What is the landscape or setting?
* What actions are taking place?

Then- Pull out some key aspects of focus. You are looking for PORTALS / WINDOWS to the subconscious.

Ask/explore:
* What has brought you forward today? Here or in the space?

STEP TWO: Amplification / Collective Unconscious- Myth, story, shared experience, archetypes.

Carl Jung's theory is the collective unconscious. He believed that human beings are connected to each other and their ancestors through a shared set of experiences. We use this collective consciousness to give meaning to the world.

* What do the working images spark for you in story, myth, or lore?
* How is the image rooted in something elemental?
* How is it related to childhood, community or primary relationships?

STEP THREE: Animation- Give life to the image

What is here now?
What is happening/what are the elements of the image bringing to life?
What is the image’s desire?

Follow the narrative, to see where it wants to go.

Bring the image into your present reality in the exploratory space, by dialoguing with them. This allows you what images are most alive.
How are the images connected?

You are essentially building a tapestry of narrative.

Then you can capture this work with your journal, or make an elegant grimoire, or your own personal little white book.
