Hey Folks! Welcome back to the channel. This post is the 3rd edition (video says 2 but its actually the 3rd edition) of a new feature here at the channel, "Deep Cut Saturday" where the plan is to post (primarily) audio from live shows from bands I was a part of when I was younger. First one, while not officially named was the Crazy Fingers Band version of "Along the Watchtower", second was "Jack Straw". My intention with this segment is to try and post one select cut each month (no specific Saturday, just once a month or maybe more if I have some extra time) for as long as I have decent enough material to share. I hope you will enjoy what you hear, some of these still feel like they occurred recently for me (even though it was almost 20 years ago) when I reflect so its cool to share with the few folks who do frequent the channel from time to time.
Ok, to set this up, the stage was Wildwood Pub in Hampton, Pennsylvania circa 2001, for this particular show it sounds like Crazy Fingers might have been a 3 piece unit for the night (that or the keys and drummer were having a drink and a smoke who knows), yours truly on Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals, Rick Romanelli on Lead Guitar /Vocals, and Scott Scassa on Bass / Vocals. The song, Big River, a cover of a Johnny Cash song. It features Rick fully exercising the acoustic Larrivee, some really fantastic fret work by Mr. Romanelli again on this one!!! Big welcome to Scott Scassa, former bass player of the band, who recently found the channel!
Audio quality is Ok I guess, tried to EQ it best I could; but releases from the vault like these Deep Cut Saturday Volumes will almost always be pulled from cassette and CD's from many years ago, so at times audio or parts of the audio can suffer with some of these.... This one does seem to get a little 'phasey' at times.
Crazy Fingers Band (the Pittsburgh one, as I understand it there are quite a few) no longer exists, but at the time consisted of:
Rick Romanelli - Lead Guitar / backing vocals
Skippy LiveJamz - Vocals / rhythm guitar
Peter Rutkowski - Keys (not present for this outing)
Scott Scassa - Bass
Ed Mook - Drums (not present for this outing)
Crazy Fingers Band also featured Brian McStay on bass, but that was after this was recorded.
