Join us in a celebration of the beauty and identity of the Latino community now part of King County Metro bus shelters in five locations around the region, with a 6th location coming later this year. These Photo Murals for these shelters highlight the diverse cultures of our Latino community and their origins throughout Mexico and Central America, from mariachis & dance to events like the local Fiestas Patrias Paradein South Park and annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations.
These new artworks are part of Metro’s Bus Shelter Mural Program, which during the past 35 years, has involved students, seniors, community organizations, artists and photographers from diverse backgrounds in creating over 3,000 painted & photographic artworks for bus shelters, transforming Metro’s bus shelters into vibrant public art galleries that brighten neighborhoods across King County, with many of the shelter artworks reflecting the cultures, histories, and stories of our northwest communities.
