This video show you how to fill a hole in the deck where a knot fell out. This one was immediately adjacent to the stairs leading to my hot tub, and it was large enough that if my toddler granddaughters happened to step on it, their toe or heel might go down into the hole and they'd get hurt.
I created a plug from a piece of the deck that was replaced. This means the plug will be the identical wood, and will be the same age. Although the fresh cut will initially be a different color, it will age within a few months and should match quite nicely.
