Debate culture is insanely toxic. I will keep sounding the alarm on the harm that "debate bro" discourse has caused in American society because IT KEEPS HAPPENING. Jubilee, Charlie Kirk and Dean Withers, UnF*ck America Tour, CNN panel "discussions"...it goes on and on and on. Sophistry reconstituted for the capitalist era.

This kind of content feeds our rage and the algorithm to an extreme degree. And it keeps us online longer, divided longer, sucked into the discourse longer. It also serves to sanewash and platform fringe right wing unhinged ideology to millions. What would it look like if we opted out of debate bro culture and listened not to conquer, but to understand. What if we engaged not to be victorious, but to seek collective liberation?
