In 2021, DEATHSWARM released their album Forward Into Oblivion via FDA Records. Formed in 2017 in Uppsala, Sweden, the band set out to deliver uncompromising, classic Death Metal in the vein of genre legends like Bolt Thrower and their Swedish compatriots Dismember.
Three of the five members were previously active in the renowned Swedish melodic death metal band Sarcasm, bringing both experience and authenticity to Deathswarm’s crushing sound. Their critically acclaimed debut album, Shadowlands of Darkness, was released in 2019 through Chaos Records (Mexico) and quickly established the band as a force to be reckoned with in the underground scene.
Two years later, Deathswarm returned with Forward Into Oblivion—nine relentless tracks packed with barbarity, brutality, and the unmistakable atmosphere of early death metal. The album was recorded at HSH Studios by drummer Alvaro Svanerö alongside Philip Borg, and subsequently mixed and mastered by Johan Ericson at Dead Dog Farm Studios.
The cover artwork and layout were created by Emerging Death Designs, perfectly capturing the raw and sinister essence of the music.
