In today’s video, I’m talking about the Death of Superman Absolute Edition – Direct Market Tombstone Edition, and the collector dilemma it’s created.
This edition released recently with a retail price of $150, and since then it’s gone absolutely crazy on the secondary market, with sealed copies selling for £250–£350+.
Mine cost me around £95, and now I’m stuck with the question every collector eventually faces:
Do I open it and enjoy it… or keep it sealed for display and value?
This Absolute Edition is limited to 1,993 copies, comes housed in a replica Superman tombstone, includes a polybag throwback, Superman artifacts, essays, and even a signed replica design for Doomsday by Dan Jurgens.
I’m not unboxing it in this video! nstead, I’m sharing my honest thoughts as a collector, the current market values, and why this might be one of the coolest collected editions DC has ever produced.
